modesty, is to talk about yourself without pride

Like all other bases of Bushido, modesty has its real roots in sincerity and truth. modesty, which is only an external shape of politeness, or ability to conciliate opinion, is not true modesty. A false modesty may be one of the most dangerous forms of vanity or fear.
The truly humble man does not want to stoop, but simply appreciate, the truth and accuracy, with sincerity and honesty. Vanity likes swagger, even if it proclaims an unreal or poor value. Whoever says : ” I am modest”, ceases to be at that moment. The cult of modesty is therefore, to be conscious of the immodestie and the propension to affirmer, to oneself and others, no or embryonic values. Finally, it is important to appreciate, respect and love others and make reference.
It should be particularly attentive to the stature of the Master who agrees to teach us judo. admiration, Gratitude, confidence begets true humility.

For kids, when we won it welcomes the loser, because he played well.

Without respect, no confidence can be born

Without modesty no respect is possible, without respect no confidence can be born. Without trust no teaching can be given, neither received.

For kids, This is not to hurt the other children.

Self-control, is knowing when to shut up anger

For a Samurai, let his emotions appear on the face or in his gestures is a lack of virility. A man should control and dominate his most natural affections. Calm, The behaviour, equal mind and heart, should not be disturbed and dominated by any passion. The greatest dramas are lived in silence. No one would grieve his neighbor with his own sentences. When a man or woman feel their mind or their heart restless and troubled, the first and instinctive modesty movement is not manifest. A young Master said : “Do you feel the depths of your soul stirred with tender thoughts ? This is the time when the seed. Do not bother talking, but let the work be accomplished peacefully in the quiet and secret”.
Whoever expresses abundance of words his feelings are neither deep nor sincere. At the Samurai, Laughter establishes the broken balance, it is the counterweight to pain or anger. The repression of feelings and passions and strongly demanded and maintained, accumulates a large amount of energy. This powerful energy finds expression in action, but an issue of safety is given by the aesthetic sensibility and poetic expression. The perfection of mastery lies in the balance between restraint selfish passions and liberation of noble impulses of human nature, purged of its narrowness.

For kids, is to know and to apply the code of conduct.
